The British Museum is seeking to appoint a Librarian: Serials and E-resources to work as part of a team responsible for managing and providing access to the Museum library service and its collections. This is an exciting time to join the team as the Museum is developing a new service, following an internal review of its research support functions. In this role you will be responsible for managing the library’s significant collection of printed and electronic serials, and its portfolio of electronic databases.

Key areas of responsibility:

In this role you will record all incoming serials issues, evaluate print and digital publications including serials and e-resources and liaise with stakeholders regarding acquisition, subscription, retention or disposal. You will manage licences, contracts and subscriptions with suppliers and subscription agents, and you will maintain a substantial number of international exchange agreements. You will also manage the serials budget and work within the Museum’s financial processes to ensure prompt payment of invoices.
