The Bodleian Libraries is undergoing significant and exciting change as it develops a fresh approach to public engagement. We are advertising a new role which will be key to ensuring that Public Engagement at the Bodleian Libraries delivers a programme which our audiences find relevant and enjoyable, and which makes best use of Oxford research excellence. The Public Engagement team is responsible for developing and delivering a programme of exhibitions, events, community projects and a schools programme, which seek to engage diverse audience groups with Oxford research and Bodleian collections.

The post holder will have a strong understanding of the principles and practice of public engagement with research while possessing the creative flair to devise and deliver strong and inclusive engagement projects and activities. You will manage an annual programme of public activity learning and participation projects, and prepare and update budgets accordingly. You will inspire and support researchers and community partners and apply audience insight to design creative and impactful events and projects, conveying key messages for target audiences. Reporting directly to the Head of Public Engagement (HOPE), this post will also lead a small team, including volunteers to work collaboratively across departments.

You will have experience within higher education, museums or cultural organisation and of creating and delivering quality public engagement events and programmes for diverse audiences, which have involved consultation or co-creation with community groups and external partners. You will be familiar with the funding landscape in higher education/cultural organisations with experience of supporting funding applications.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 3 years.
