We have a vacancy for a Communications Assistant to join the Communications team at the Gallery. Working closely with the Digital Communications Manager and Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Assistant will play a key role in the activities of the National Portrait Gallery’s Communications team. The post holder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient support to a small but busy team, assisting with digital communications and the day-to-day running of the Press Office, and acting as a point of contact for social media, telephone and email enquiries.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a communications team ideally within a museum, arts or heritage organisation or similar environment, alongside experience in managing and maintaining accurate complex data, particularly working with CRM databases (e.g. Tessitura). They will be a strong communicator, with excellent written communication skills in order to deal effectively with email and social media enquiries.
