Shape Unlimited Traineeship: Job Description
(Paid, part time, 12 month fixed term contract)

Line Managed by: Head of Programme (with supervision by Unlimited Programme Manager)

Main Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of this post is to maintain and support the activities of the Unlimited Programme, which is co-delivered by Shape Arts and Artsadmin, with specific focus on the Emerging Artist commissioning strand. This position is based at Shape and encompasses a number of roles in assisting artists’ projects from marketing, to event management and project evaluation.

Main Areas of Responsibility
· Liaising with and supporting disabled artists, venues, and production teams be-fore, during and after Unlimited Commissions
· Providing assistance to the Unlimited team and wider Shape team
· Assisting in the publicity, promotion and marketing of all areas related to Unlimited
· Maintaining and updating project plans & diaries
· Advocating for disabled artists and generating interest in their projects
· Maintaining online and printed resources to support the disabled artistic community
· Assisting with the coordination of events and training for Unlimited artists and partners
· Attending performances, talks and events relating to Unlimited commissioned work.

General activities
· Day to day administrative support
· Researching opportunities & information
· Assisting in the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns
· Long-term strategic development of independent artists and companies
· Occasional basic book keeping, budgeting and petty cash

Essential Skills and Experience
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and set your own work priorities when necessary
· Excellent attention to detail
· A high standard of organisation & efficiency
· Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
· A self-starting and pro-active approach to work
· Excellent communication skills
· Knowledge of IT, particularly MS Office software
· Numeracy & basic budgeting skills
· A demonstrable commitment to see the job through; reliability
· Demonstrable awareness of the importance of maintaining confidentiality when handling images and data
· Commitment to cultural diversity, respect and inclusivity in all dealings with col-leagues, visitors, clients or members of the public

Desirable skills / experience
· Experience of working within disability / diverse-led organisations
· Experience of working within an arts / creative environment
· Good knowledge of social media and digital platforms
· Knowledge of design software (Photoshop, InDesign etc)
· A keen desire to work in the arts in the longer term
· Willingness to participate in training and development provided or arranged by Shape
· Ability to work outside normal working hours, as required by the job
