Company Background
Wyldwood Arts are producers of social arts, championing unheard voices and connecting communities through storytelling and the arts. We work across arts education, voluntary and care sectors creating socially engaged projects, specialising in intergenerational work. Through theatre, dance, film, performance, visual art and participatory projects we produce transformative programmes in a collaborative, person-centred way. Our work spans Bristol, North Somerset, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
Since we began operating in 2014, we have delivered nearly 200 sessions for around 300 beneficiaries and in the past year, productions for audiences numbering over 800.
We work with cross sector partners from the arts, education, voluntary groups and the care sector. Our funding streams are a mixture of commissions, earned income and charitable trusts. This allows us to be flexible with our approach to work and encourages a more sustainable model of operating.
Our achievements
• Festival of Ages for Alliance Homes, leading to a digital inclusion project, Switched On, using arts to engage older people in media platforms
• Doing Things Differently, in partnership with Bristol City Council and Diverse City, engaging 4000+ people in addressing equality in the arts
• Hereford River Carnival, engaging over 100 vulnerable young people in local carnival clubs
• Intergenerational festival for St Monica Trust, with workshops celebrating multiple art forms
• Passing the Baton toured 12 venues to an audience of 650, as a debut professional performance using an intergenerational model
• Collaboration with Open Attic, with 12 student placements from University of Bristol as part of an emerging artists programme
• Reel Stories film project, co-produced with Young Bristol and Winash Care Home
• ‘May’ production UK tours of the story of “cripple suffragette” Rosa May Billinghurst, with associate artist, Phoebe Kemp
• Worked with over 2000 people in a variety of settings including day care centres, care homes, schools, community spaces, theatres, band stands, and forests.

The role of Marketing Assistant
Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a marketer who has the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to support Wyldwood Arts in delivery of its marketing strategy across multiple channels, supporting the participatory and production strands of activity.
· Ensure all external communications for Wyldwood Arts are vibrant, coherent, support the personable and professional brand
· Ensure all communications represent our values, ethos and culture
· Oversee social media across all platforms to promote Wyldwood Arts, creating content, managing advertising and measuring metrics
· Contribute to campaigns to drive engagement for socials, building followers
· Build subscribers, create engaging and relevant content for and distribute newsletters, maintaining regular contact with Wyldwood Arts’ audience
· Collaborate with photographers, filmmakers, designers to develop assets for use in campaigns
· Coordinate and write press releases, liaising with press, scheduling listings and blogging/vlogging about projects
· Communicate with venues around ticketing and sales for productions, and with partners around workshop and participatory activities
· Work with the executive team and project managers to support work around audience development and evaluation
· Attend meetings on behalf of the Wyldwood Arts team and contribute to campaign and strategy development
· Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time
Person Specification and Experience
• At least two year’s experience in an arts administration and/or communications role
• A demonstrable commitment and desire to support the delivery of high quality engagement experiences specifically relating to intergenerational work
• An ambitious attitude to supporting and promoting challenging and ground-breaking theatrical productions
• A passion and dedication to community arts for all ages
• An understanding of the benefits and impact that the arts can produce when addressing a social need
• Positive, friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communications and people skills
• Self-motivated and able to manage own workload, prioritizing effectively
• Comfortable asking questions and making decisions, using initiative
• Ability and desire to work flexibly
• Knowledge of online marketing and the ability to deftly approach multiple platforms with relevant approaches
• Confident and creative copywriting ability, and an understanding of press and PR
• Proven experience of engaging a wide range of audiences through specific audience development initiatives
• Excellent time-keeping, organizational, IT and project management skills
• The ability to act professionally and consistently, with a keen eye for detail
• Development of marketing and communication strategies
• Event management experience
• Facilitation of community arts projects and leading groups
• Experience working with schools/education partners and/or care providers
• Experience working in an arts production role
• An understanding and funding and reporting across a range of income streams
• Networking and advocacy experience
The role will report to the executive team and associate producer.
This role will work closely with project managers and partners.
Working arrangements
The fee for the contract is based on 16 hours per week at a rate of £10 per hour.
This will be paid upon receipt of an invoice. Exact working hours will be agreed on a rolling basis.
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for their own tax and National Insurance contributions. Expenses will be covered additionally, as agreed in advance with the Associate Producer.
As this role is offered on a freelance only basis, it is not eligible for Holiday Pay.
This role is a home-based role and may require occasional weekend and evening commitments.
The role will be contracted to finish 31 December 2019 with the potential for extension, pending funding.
