This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Department in a world renowned setting and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. As the Finance Officer: Income you would provide maternity cover and be responsible for managing the income & cash handling functions of the Museum group to ensure that income is received and processed in a timely manner, financial data is accurate and the service provided to Museum departments is of a high standard.

Key areas of responsibility:

Lead, motivate, manage and develop team members
Review and authorise journals, reconciliations and other analysis prepared by team members
Ensure the Credit controllers meets KPI targets
Ensure the Cash Team meets KPI targets
Ensure high quality invoices are prepared efficiently and to timetable and all details including VAT treatment are correct
Oversight of cash advances system across the organisation
Ensure that internal controls are robust within cash office processing
Ensure Donations information as recorded in Raisers Edge is accurate and reconciles to donation income as recorded in Agresso
Perform reconciliations and analysis as directed and to timetable
Prepare and Submit the BMF quarterly VAT return
Prepare the Inputs and Outputs analysis for the BM quarterly VAT return
Supervise the preparation of monthly VAT submissions for all entities
Liaising with management accounts team to ensure financial data is timely and accurate and issues are identified, followed up and resolved
Working across the finance team to provide best practice accounting, processing and reporting services to all Museum staff
