Documentation Officer

Documentation Officer
Employer: Victoria & Albert Museum
Salary: £22,227.00 - £25,875.00
Location: London

We are seeking a Documentation Officer to join the Collections Management Department.
The Collections Management Department (CMD) is responsible for providing collections management services and advice, and delivering improved access to information about the collections, particularly digital access.

This is an exciting time to join our busy team as we have recently completed the award-winning Collections Management Programme (CMP). We are now consolidating the work of this programme to establish CMS based museum-wide collections management procedural workflows, including exhibitions and loans, into museum working.

As the Documentation Officer, you will:

Support the users of the Collections Management System (CMS) by acting as one of the first lines of contact on the CMS Helpdesk, delivery and maintenance of CMD training courses and provision of advice and direct support to colleagues across the museum and communicating issues to rest of the team for resolution via the Collections Management Issue log.
Support the core day to day work of the Collections Management team. This will include dealing with cataloguing and copyright queries, data cleaning and terminology control. The post-holder will maintain tools to support these tasks and will produce regular reports for senior management as required.
The successful candidate will receive full training on CMS.
