A new opportunity has arisen at the British Museum for a Catalogue Co-ordinator to have oversight of the quality control of data and catalogue entries to the Museum’s Collection Management System (MI+). The post-holder will work closely with colleagues across the Museum to deliver and manage an accessible, consistent, up-to-date catalogue of the Museum’s collection for staff and public access.

Key areas of responsibility:

To set and monitor data standards and terminology in the Collection Management System and quality assurance of object records.
Support the improvement of object records by performing bulk uploads, global edits, and deletions in the Collection Management System as required.
To ensure compliance with licences and legal requirements associated with the Collections Management System and publication of research.
To support the development and delivery of training and guidance to staff in use of the Collection Management System for object and procedure records.
Coordinate responses to Collection Online public enquiries, answering queries directly as appropriate.
