The British Museum has an exciting opportunity for a Governance and Planning Co-ordinator to be part of a small team supporting the Board of Trustees and senior management team. Based in the Director’s Office, this role plays a key part in ensuring effective governance and offers the opportunity to work across the Museum’s areas of operation. Working to the Governance and Planning Manager, you will have line management responsibility for a senior administrator. You will be responsible for helping ensure the smooth running of Trustee business, including managing meetings and collating papers. You will also act as secretary to the Museum’s Project Board and provide secretariat cover for the Governance and Planning Manager when required. You will prepare reports for Trustees on performance against the Strategy and Operating Plan objectives, and will collate and analyse management information.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and will have experience working with boards in the public or private sector. You will have experience of carrying out research, analysing data and producing reports. You will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, and will be proficient in using IT to present information to diverse audiences.

We are looking for a team player, who is equally comfortable working unsupervised to deliver their objectives. As the Museum embarks on a masterplan programme over the next few years, we are looking for someone who is flexible and enjoys working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
