About the role

The Assistant Registrar will effectively manage the renewals programme of long loans in to IWM, and support new temporary exhibition projects, as well as Masterplan projects associated with new Second World War/Holocaust Galleries (TIWML2) which will open in 2021. You will work with a range of lenders from private individuals to larger orgainisations, and act as the main point of contact for these activities.

Key Duties

Coordination of short term loans in for updating gallery displays, and particular project based work, and historic loans reconciliation tasks.

Manage and monitor the reactive programme of loans out, as well as the renewal programme of long term loans out.

The postholder will require an understanding of and be able to demonstrable, through their working, a practical knowledge of the national and international standards associated with loans in and loans out. This will include an understanding of collections mobility within the UK and overseas, UK and foreign indemnity schemes, and immunity from seizure legislation.

The postholder will work as part of an effective, forward thinking and pragmatic team.
