The Horniman Museum and Gardens in south east London has been open since Victorian times, when the tea trader and philanthropist, Frederick John Horniman first opened his house and extraordinary collection of objects to the local community. Since then, our collection has grown significantly and includes internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, as well as an acclaimed aquarium and natural history gallery – all surrounded by 16 acres of beautiful Gardens offering breathtaking views across London.

We are looking for a Digital Assistant to have day-to-day responsibility for the Horniman’s website, intranet and social media. You will generate or edit much of our day to day content (written, imagery, video) in line with our campaign and plans, support and contribute to digital media activities, as well as provide database administration support across the Communications & Income Generation team. It is an exciting time to join the team, as we will embarking on a major website development project as well as other projects focused on our music collections over the next few years.
You will be a good digital all-rounder with exceptional knowledge of digital and social media platforms, an interest in digital developments and creating content. You will have experience of working with content management systems and using a variety of social media platforms in a business context, as well as generating content.
