The British Museum, one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions, is seeking a Head of Procurement to set and deliver a new strategy for efficient and effective procurement across the Museum.

The successful candidate will modernise procurement procedures, standards and processes, implementing system improvements where appropriate to ensure compliance and efficiency and building expertise in negotiation and contract management to achieve good commercial outcomes.

Educated to degree level and MCIPS qualified (or equivalent) you will have experience of working in a multinational, FTSE250 or ‘Big 4’ environment, and of public sector procurement. You will be a strong communicator with excellent judgement, an analytical approach and a strong drive to improve. You will be able to manage conflicting demands and prioritise workload effectively.

We would also be interested in hearing from candidates with a relevant background and an ACA qualification (or equivalent) with a commitment to obtain procurement qualifications.
