The Retail Operations department is responsible for generating income and profit for the Bodleian Libraries, through on-site sales in our two shops and online at

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of collaborative working to join our small retail team. You will provide support to the Retail Operations Manager in all aspects of stock management, including placing orders, liaising with suppliers and assisting with invoice reconciliation.

You will contribute to the ongoing success of the department with your ability to multi-task and work with accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in a busy retail office. You will also have demonstrable experience of using a retail EPOS system, MS Excel and providing the highest standards of customer service, ideally in a shop floor role.

Some lifting, carrying and moving of stock may be required, and please note our working environment includes confined spaces and a basement-level stockroom.

This role is permanent and part-time, working 14 hours per week (0.38 full time equivalent), on Thursdays and Fridays 9am – 5pm.

Due to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check.
