Retail Team Leader

Retail Team Leader
Employer: Tate
Salary: £22,822.80 per annum plus great benefits (pro-rata)
Location: London

Tate Enterprises Ltd. is the trading arm of Tate. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites, publishing (both Tate exhibition catalogues and general art books, as well as illustrated children’s books), product development, picture library and licensing.

We are looking for three enthusiastic Retail Team Leaders for the Exhibition shops at Tate Modern. These roles are permanent, for 21 or 28 hours per week, working every weekend. Successful candidates will be responsible for opening and closing the shops, and for supervising daily operations, monitoring staff performance, carrying out stock checks. Occasionally they will be required to deputise for the Sales Managers, so substantial experience at senior sales or supervisory level, ideally gained in the heritage sector or a high profile retailer, is important.

The successful candidates will be excellent communicators, with proven experience of leading teams and the ability to delegate to Retail Assistants, and communicate confidently at all levels. They must be passionate about raising revenue for Tate, be ambassadors for the brand and demonstrate exemplary behaviour in all areas of their job, being role models to staff and a support to management.

The Retail Team Leaders will be able to work effectively, independent of supervision, be self-motivated and proven problem-solvers. We are looking for someone who is flexible, resourceful and loves a challenge. Successful candidates will be able to inspire and motivate teams to provide great customer service, and have the ability to oversee six busy shops when acting as duty manager on a rota basis.

The ideal candidates will have had exposure to a wide range of products from fast moving pocket money goods, to limited edition and high-end items, and be confident visual merchandisers. If you are passionate about leading a team to deliver exceptional customer service and to up-hold shop floor standards then we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for availability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends, including bank holidays.

We offer great benefits, including paid holiday, pension plan, staff training, performance and service awards, great discounts in our shops and catering outlets, Employee Assistance Program, Cycle scheme and free entry to exhibitions for our employees and their friends and family.
