Watts Gallery – Artists' Village is going through a step change in its development. Becoming part of an international artist studio museum network, recognised as a major visitor attraction in the South East and celebrating the bicentenary of G F Watts in 2017.
This is an entry level role for a candidate with little or no experience of working in a museum. It offers opportunities to develop skills and experience in all aspects of heritage from Marketing to Curatorial. The Trainee will be based in the Learning Department and the majority of their role will be to support the delivery of the heritage learning and engagement programme as part of the Watts Studios project.
Watts Studios is a suite of galleries and learning spaces that opened in 2016 at the Artists' Village, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Since then a vibrant programme of learning, engagement and interpretation activities has being delivered as part of the project attracting nearly 20,000 participants. The Learning Assistant will join the Watts Studios project team as it enters the final phase of delivery of the programme. This is an exciting time to join Watts Gallery Artists' Village team as it enters a new period of development.
