Senior Exhibitions Project Manager

Senior Exhibitions Project Manager
Employer: Royal Museums Greenwich
Salary: £35,000.00 - £45,000.00 Per Annum
Location: London

It’s an exciting time to join the team here at Royal Museums Greenwich. As one of the UK’s top ten visitor attractions, we already welcome around 2.3 million people a year to this UNESCO World Heritage Site - home of the National Maritime Museum, Queen’s House, Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Cutty Sark.
Now driving through an ambitious masterplan that will transform our public spaces and displays, our aim is to engage and inspire ever-broader audiences of all ages and from all backgrounds. As part of this, we’re opening the brand new Exploration Wing in Autumn 2018. This transformational project brings four new permanent galleries to the National Maritime Museum, exhibiting 1,000 objects that span Pacific and Polar exploration and Britain’s maritime past.

In this broad-ranging role, you will be key to the success of this flagship project. As well as working with colleagues to plan the installation of objects, you’ll co-ordinate a small team of Project Managers to deliver the galleries, oversee critical work packages and manage the development of gallery graphics.

There will also be the opportunity to lead permanent and semi-permanent gallery and display projects right across our four sites, including the rehanging of a significant number of artworks in the Queen’s House.

With a proven track record of exhibition installation, construction and design management, ideally gained in a museum or similar environment, you should combine strong communication, budgetary and technical skills with the proven ability to co-ordinate contractors. Team leadership experience would be ideal.
