The British Museum is seeking a Design Manager to develop a strategic design framework which sets out standards and parameters in order to transform the way that projects are designed and developed at the UK’s leading museum.

The main responsibilities in this role will involve developing design policies and guidelines in support of the Museum’s Design Strategy, as well as advising on the selection and appointment of design teams in relation to building and infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with all statutory requirements whilst meeting the challenging requirements of the estate.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and will possess a relevant professional qualification. With demonstrable experience of planning, developing and advising on design, you will be able to provide strategic advice at a senior level. Experience of identifying and managing risk is essential, particularly related to infrastructure and design led solutions.
