The Royal Armouries, the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour, is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Curator. You will be an active member of the Curatorial Team in the Collections Department. Your main duties will be adding to the publicly available stock of knowledge of the arms and armour collection through cataloguing, and promoting the subject through answering enquiries. You will also assist Curators and Keepers in the day to day management of the collections, provide collections access and assist with exhibitions and research.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working at museums and be passionate and knowledgeable about arms and armour. You will be an excellent team player who is hard working, open, thorough, adaptable, engaging and educated to at least degree level.

This post will be based at Royal Armouries Leeds, but working at other Royal Armouries sites will be required.

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working may be required.
