Do you have knowledge of museum collection hazards? Would you like to use this knowledge to contribute to an exciting museum project?

The Science Museum Group are looking for a Senior Collections Hazard Surveyor to play a key role in the One Collection project - our strategic initiative to re-imagine how our collection is cared for, accessed and shared.

Based at Blythe House, London, you will gain a unique insight into the museum collections whilst developing operational plans to survey the collection for hazards, before planning and executing work programmes. Managing a team of Hazard Surveyors, you will compile inventories of hazardous objects and materials, ensuring relevant data is accessible. You will train colleagues where necessary, motivating them to perform to a high standard.

As well as knowledge of collection hazards and Health and Safety regulations, you will have excellent people management skills and the ability to meet deadlines calmly and efficiently. You will be comfortable both handling objects and preparing update reports on progress.
