Westminster Council runs an award winning public relations service for councils. Our staff are setting the communications agenda for not just Westminster but authorities from Southwark to Staffordshire.
We have an established reputation for supplying high quality professionals who deliver targeted campaigns and outstanding media relations.

There are exciting opportunities to join the Westminster communications family. These are exciting roles and we will expect the successful applicant to add to our record of delivering outstanding communications. You will be part of a communications team with a national reputation, and can expect the career advancement to go with that. You can also expect the support and experience of Westminster Council communications staff.

While each role is based at a particular office, we will expect our staff to be flexible in where they work. It may be we require you to help colleagues in another local authority occasionally so you will need to understand how the communications offices of our different councils work.
We are currently seeking a media officer. As media officer your role is to promote the council and its policies. You will already have either a strong track record in PR/agency work, or may be a journalist looking to make the switch to public relations. Either way, you will be a sharp writer, a credible adviser to senior managers and equally at home either bringing campaigns to life in the media or handling reactive inquiries from journalists.
